Financial Aide for NYU Prison Education Program Alumni

NYU PEP currently provides full-tuition scholarships and monthly living stipends for students transferring from Wallkill Correctional Facility to the Washington Square Campus to pursue their Associate’s or Bachelor’s degrees at the School of Professional Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, and the Gallatin School of Individualized Studies. In addition, NYU PEP provides financial assistance to PEP alum, in the form of admission fee waivers, metro cards, books and other student services, for those students pursuing degrees outside of NYU. Students from Wallkill must notify the NYU PEP office of their intent to apply for financial aide to be considered for financial aide.

The Horizons Grant

As a result of the NYU Prison Industrial Complex Committee’s recent work, the University will now offer two additional undergraduate scholarships, based on need, effective Fall of 2020 to people who were formerly incarcerated. These scholarships are for students who have not participated in the Wallkill program.
